Role Description

This is a full-time remote Data Analyst role based in Toronto, Canada. You will join our Data Quality team, a critical function responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the data that powers the ResearchOrg platform.

This role reports directly to the Director of Data Quality and Analytics, offering strong exposure to strategic data initiatives and decision-making at the organizational level.

As a Data Analyst, you will gather, analyze, and model complex datasets to generate actionable insights while maintaining the highest standards of data quality. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams—including product, engineering, and research, to identify data inconsistencies, improve data pipelines, and enhance overall data reliability.

Key responsibilities include creating visualizations, generating reports, conducting statistical analyses, and proactively identifying data quality issues and optimization opportunities. You will also be responsible for clearly communicating insights and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

About the Data Quality Team

The Data Quality team sits at the core of ResearchOrg’s value proposition. This team ensures that all data delivered to users is accurate, consistent, and trustworthy.

You’ll operate in a high-ownership environment where data is treated as a product. The team is responsible for building scalable validation systems, improving data pipelines, and enforcing data governance standards across the organization.

Roles & Responsibilities

·Analyze large, complex datasets to extract actionable insights
·Identify, investigate, and resolve data quality issues across multiple data sources
·Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations for internal stakeholders
·Perform statistical analysis to support business and product decisions
·Collaborate with engineering and product teams to improve data pipelines and workflows
·Design and implement data validation and quality assurance processes
·Monitor data integrity and proactively flag anomalies or inconsistencies
·Document data definitions, processes, and quality standards
·Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications

·Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
·1–3 years of experience in data analysis, data quality, or a related role
·Strong proficiency in SQL and Excel
·Experience working with structured datasets and relational databases
·Solid understanding of statistical analysis and data modeling fundamentals
·Demonstrated ability to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in data
·Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
·Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

·Experience with Python or R for data analysis and automation
·Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker)
·Experience working with data pipelines, ETL processes, or data warehousing concepts
·Exposure to data governance, data quality frameworks, or validation systems
·Experience working in a fast-paced startup or product-driven environment
·Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
·Curiosity and ownership mindset, someone who doesn’t just analyze data but questions it

Additional Information

This is a remote role based in Toronto, Canada, and candidates are expected to be located within Canada to ensure alignment with working hours and team collaboration. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment.
